Bio

Joseph “Joe” Goblirsch was born on 7 November 1905, to John G. and Anna F. Schnobrick Goblirsch, in Lucan, Redwood County, Minnesota. Joseph married Rose Anna Frank, the daughter of Michael William and Anna Gertrude Serbus Frank, on 24 April 1934, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bechyn, Renville County, Minnesota. Joseph and Rose Anna raised their nine children and farmed near Wabasso, Redwood County, Minnesota until Joseph died in 1968. Joseph Goblirsch of Wabasso, died at home in his sleep, at the age of 62, on 18 May 1968, in Waterbury Township, near Wabasso, in Redwood County, Minnesota. Joe was survived by his wife, Rose; sons, Bernard of Wabasso, William and Robert at home, and John of Minneapolis; daughters, Mary Ann (Gerald) Mans of Mankato, Theresa (George) Plass of Bird Island, Rose (Joseph) Purrung of Cocoa Beach, Florida, and Agnes and Donna at home; 15 grandchildren; brother, Michael of Oregon; sisters, Mary (Joseph) Bray of Lucan and Susie (Sylvester) Klabunde of Redwood Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents and two daughters. His funeral was held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan on 21 May 1968. The Reverend Leo Goblirsch officiated and pallbearers were: Richard Brey of Milroy, Kenneth and Donald Ridl, Jr., of Renville, Leo Goblirsch of North Redwood, Edward Goblisch of Olivia, and Donald Goblirsch of Vesta. Joseph was buried in Our Lady of Victory Catholic Cemetery in Lucan, Redwood County, Minnesota.
