Bio

Barbara Goblirsch was born on 11 October 1876, to Michael and Katharina "Katherine" Weis Goblirsch, in Henryville Township, Renville County, Minnesota. She was their third oldest daughter and the fourth born of ten children. On 23 October 1905, in Beltrami County, Minnesota, Barbara married Albert D. Martineau, the son of Nelson Urbain and Marie Henriette Heroux Martineau. After their marriage, they lived in Bemidji. Barbara and Albert had no children. After Barbara’s husband, Albert D. Martineau, died on 9 October 1921, Barbara went to work as a housekeeper for a widower, Alfred J. Lancombe, who had three young children. Barbara Goblirsch Martineau died at the age of 86, on 14 October 1962, in Bemidji, Beltrami County, Minnesota. She was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Bemidji, Beltrami County, Minnesota.
