DECATUR HERALD REVIEW NEWSPAPER 11/27/1981 Lafayette Beardon Ray, 81 of 2522 Baltimore Ave. died 4:35 am Thursday November 26, 1981 in American Healthcare center. Funeral services will be at 10am Monday in J.J.Moran & Sons funeral home with visitation 5 to 8 pm Sunday.Burial will be in Graceland cemetery. Mr. Ray was born in Sullivan, son of James Beardon and Ida Bacon Ray. He was a former employee of Decatur Window Cleaners and retired employee of Illinois Power Co, Member of First Wesleyan Church, Windows cleans union and Short Circuit Club. He married Lucille Legge. She died in 1947. He married Bernice Jacobs in 1976. She died in June 1981. Surviving are his sons, Richard G. of Hemet,Cal, Russell C.and Walter C. both of Decatur,Stepson,Bernard Jacobs of Mt. Zion, daughters, Mrs.Ronald(Marilyn) Jargon of Decatur Mrs.Russell(Betty) Kerr of Salisbury, N.C., sister Hattie Roberts of Decatur, six grandchildren. One brother proceeded him in death.
