Decatur Daily Review 7/13/1962 Funeral services for Earl Oscar Ray, 71,of 843 E. Whitmer St.will be 3 pm Saturday in the J. J.Moran& Sons funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 pm today. Mr.Ray died at 12:30 pm Thursday in Decatur and Macon county hospital after an illness of three days. Mr.Ray was born Jan.11,1891, near Sullivan a son of James B. and Mary Martina Wright Ray. He married Josephine Johnson Jan. 23,1911 in Decatur. A member of the Tabernacle Baptist church. Mr.Ray came to Decatur in 1917 from Sullivan He was a former street car and bus driver and worked 11 years for Houdaille Hershey Corp before retiring. Survivors include his wife, two sons,J.B.of Decatur and Darrell Ray of Paris,a daughter Mrs. Marguiette Koontz of Pasadena,Calif.,two sisters,Mrs. Harriet Roberts of Decatur and Mrs.Stella Sheets of Mansfield,Ohio,one brother J.H.Ray,Sr. of Iowa,two half brothers L.B.Ray and Oral Foster, both of Decatur, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
