Decatur Herald 4/25/1930 Mrs.Ida Varvil,65 died in the home of her son,Elmer David Ray,2897 E.Locust street, early Thursday morning. She had been ill for five weeks. She had been subject to heart trouble for about five years. Mrs. Varvil was born on April 16,1865 in Moultrie county nears Sullivan. She lived there for about 20 years moving to Piatt county at the end of that time to live in and near Milmine. Ten years ago she moved to Clinton where she made her home for eight years coming to Decatur to live with her son two years ago. She leaves four children,Beardon Ray,Elmer David Ray,John Varvil and Ernest Varvil,all of Decatur.She had nine grandchildren and three brothers. Her brothers are LaFayette Bacon,Cerro Gordo,William Bacon Stockbridge,Mich, Sylvester Bacon, Lake Charles,La. She was a member of the church of God in Milmine. The body was removed to the Moran funeral home where funeral services will be at 1:30 oclock Friday afternoon in the chapel. Burial will be in Cerro Gordo,cemetery. The Illinois Deaths & Stillbirths Index, her death certificate and three family Bibles say she's buried here regardless of what anyone says. I believe that this last paragraph is from Russ Nixon
