Aunt Dollie's real name was Catherine Garnet Smith, but like all her sisters, she had a nickname. Aunt Dollie married a widower, John Ditmore, on November 29, 1905, in Wise County, Texas. Aunt Dollie lived in the home of her niece, Sarah Arrilla Canon Oates, for several years. Aunt Dollie died at the home of her niece, Elva Griffin Collins. Aunt Dollie was survived by her nieces and nephews, and one sister-in-law, Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" Smith of Fort Worth, Texas. ********************************************************************************** Aunt Dollie was preceded in death by her parents, Seaborn Smith and Elizabeth Goodwin Smith; her husband, John R. Ditmore; her sisters and brothers, Sarah Ellen Brock Nicholas, John P. Smith, Rebecca Jane Coker, William H. Smith, Seaborn T. Smith, J. Monroe Smith, Frances "Pinkie" Barnett, Nancy E. "Bettie" Canon, and Dorcas E. "Missie" Griffin. At her death in 1950, Aunt Dollie was the last surviving child of her parents, Seaborn and Elizabeth Goodwin Smith.
