Herald Coaster, March 8, 1970: Funeral services for Henry H. Kettler, 79, of Rosenberg were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. John's United Church of Christ in Rosenberg, with the Rev. Donald Kolkmeier officiating. Burial was in the Cottonwood Cemetery. Mr. Kettler died Tuesday in Polly Ryan Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Washington County and had been a resident of Fort Bend County since 1905. He was a retired farmer and worked for the County Precinct 2 before operating the City Club for 11 years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emma Kettler; four daughters, Mrs. Edna Rose of Richmond, Mrs. Emma Lee Enax of Rosenberg, Mrs. Ella Mae Hodges of Vidor, and Mrs. Hilda Fae Sabrsula of Needville; three sons, Lonnie J. Kettler and Roy Kettler, both of Rosenberg, and Alfred Kettler of Richmond; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Rister of Houston and Mrs. Albina Warncke of Needville; one brother, Willie Kettler of Houston; and 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ. Pallbearers were grandsons, Roy Allen Kettler, James Enax, Dalton Kettler, Harvey Kettler, Kenneth Kettler, and Walter Himly. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Garmany & Co. Funeral Directors.
