Rosenberg Herald, January 13, 1933: After an illness of only a few days, with pneumonia, Mrs. Anna Kettler passed to her eternal home Sunday, January 8 at 7 a.m. Mrs. Kettler was born October 16, 1859 in Germany. She came to America in 1884, locating in Washington County, Texas. In 1885, she was married to Henry Kettler and to this union nine children were born, four of whom died in infancy. In 1905, Mr. and Mrs. Kettler moved to Beasley, where they lived, made friends, and were among those who helped to make that community prosperous and a good place in which to live. Mrs. Kettler was a charter member of the Evangelical Church of Beasley and one of its most devoted and faithful members. She was a good Christian woman and her life is worthy of emulation by those whom she left behind. Deceased is survived by three sons, Chas. Kettler of Needville, Henry Kettler of Beasley, and Wm. Kettler of Gulf; two daughters, Mrs. Alvina Warncke of Needville and Mrs. Ella Rister of Beasley; and twenty-three grandchildren. Mr. Kettler preceded his wife in death, having passed away February 27, 1926. A short funeral service was held at the home of her son, Chas. Kettler in Needville at 1 p.m. Monday, followed by services at the Evangelical Church in Needville, conducted by Rev. J.R. Vilt of Needville and Rev. R.F. Kuretoch of Beasley. The services were beautiful and fitting to this woman who had lived the life of a faithful Christian to the time when her Lord and Savior saw fit to call her to rest--a rest she so well deserved. Interment was made beneath a canopy of lovely flowers by the side of her companion in life in the Beasley Cemetery. The Foerster Funeral Home of Rosenberg had charge of funeral arrangements. The Herald is joined by a host of friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved loved ones.
