Fort Bend Herald, October 13, 2020: Funeral services for Emma Lee Kettler Enax Marek, 93, of Rosenberg, TX, will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ on Thursday, October 15, 2020. Pastor Felix Carrión will officiate the service. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Thursday at the church. There will be a private extended-family service following at 10:30 AM, followed by a private interment at Davis Greenlawn Memorial Park. Emma was born August 9, 1927 in Rosenberg, TX, the daughter of Henry and Emma Miller Kettler. She was baptized on October 2, 1927 and confirmed on April 6, 1941 at Friedens United Church of Christ, Beasley, TX. Emma graduated from Beasley High School and later received a certificate in nutrition from Wharton County Junior College. She worked for 24 years in food service for Lamar CISD. Emma was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ of Rosenberg since 1950, was a member of St. John's Women's Guild, and a former Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of V.F.W., American Legion, Hermann Sons, and A.A.R.P. Emma is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Bennie H. Enax in 1981; and her second husband, Edwin "Ed" Marek in October 2020. She is also preceded in death by siblings, Edna Rose, Ella Mae Hodges, Alfred Kettler, Lonnie Kettler, Roy Kettler, and Hilda Fae Sabrsula. Also preceding her in death were step-daughter-in-law, Dorothy Marek , and step-great-granddaughter, Emma Rose Marek . She is survived by her daughter, Diana Enax Beck and husband, Keith, of Rosenberg; and sons, James Enax and wife, Cynthia, of Orlando, Florida, Darwin Enax and wife, Janet, of Richmond, and Gary Enax and wife, Dee Dee, of Needville; her step-children, Wayne Marek of La Grange, Danny Marek and wife, Janice, of Rosenberg, and Patsy Marek Kutra and husband, Meinard, of Richmond; her grandchildren, Brandon Beck and wife, Tracy, Holly Beck Gustavson and husband, Robbie, Lezli Enax Steffen and husband, Bryan, Stephanie Enax Nidiffer and husband, James, Clint Enax, Shellie Enax Smyers and husband, Paul, Justin Lathem and fiancé, Felicia, Jeremy Lathem, Peggy Miller Fitzgerald and husband, Ryan, and Armstrong "Army" Miller and wife, Carrie; her step-grandchildren, Kevin Marek and wife, Laurie Lee, Daryl Marek and wife, Katie, Keith Marek and wife, Shelley, Chris Marek and wife, Rachel, Jaime Kutra Barnett and husband, Scott, and Justin Kutra and wife, Jamie; her great-grandchildren, Adeline Gustavson, Liam Gustavson, Wyatt Gustavson, Mikayla Beck, Sebastian Smyers, Desmond Fitzgerald, Deacon Miller, Lyllian Miller, and Adele Miller; her step-great-grandchildren, Miranda Melendez and husband Michael, Korey Marek, Grace Ann Marek, Matthew Marek, Caiden Marek, Bradley Marek, Ellie Marek, Cody Marek, Eli Marek, and Willow Kutra; her step-great-great-grandchild, Konner Melendez. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Florence Gaskamp; good friend, Marie Enax; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers are Brandon Beck, Clint Enax, Bryan Steffen, James Nidiffer, Justin Lathem, and Paul Smyers. Honorary pallbearers are Robbie Gustavson, Jeremy Lathem, and Nathan Gaskamp. Emma's family would like to thank her caregivers at Cambridge Square Assisted Living for their wonderful care. Memorials can be made in Emma's memory to St John's United Church of Christ, 1513 West St., Rosenberg, TX 77471.
