Rosenberg Herald, March 5, 1926: On February 27, 1926, at his home in the Beasley community, occurred the death of Mr. C.H. Kettler, one of the most prominent citizens of that place. Death came as the result of an attack of heart failure. Mr. Kettler was born on December 20, 1860 in Germany, and had been a resident of Texas for the past 22 years, making Fort Bend County his home most of this time, where by his remarkable character has gained the love and friendship of all who knew him. His sudden passing has caused much sorrow, not alone in his immediate family but to all those who knew him so well. The bereaved widow especially has the sympathy of everyone as she was confined to her bed at the time of Mr. Kettler's death, and was even unable to attend his funeral. He is survived by his heartbroken widow and five children who have the deep sympathy of their many friends in their hour of bereavement. Funeral services were conducted at the home Monday morning, by Rev. J.R. Vilt of Needville. Interment was made in the Beasley Cemetery. The pallbearers were Messrs. E.J. Miller, Fred Isleib, Adolph Wenzel, Henry Requardt, Frank Florian, and Adolph Krause. The funeral was largely attended by friends, and many floral offerings were brought and placed upon the grave as a token of love and friendship. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Clark Funeral Parlor of Rosenberg. ******************************************************************************************** Henry was the first adult buried in Friedens Cemetery
