Frieda Caroline Schwarz was baptized June 6, 1897, at St. John Lutheran Church in New Bern, Williamson County, Texas. Frieda Schwarz married George Ernst Becker on April 19, 1917. ***************************************************************************** OBITUARY FROM THE TAYLOR DAILY NEWS: Mrs. George (Frieda) Becker Mrs. George (Frieda) Becker, 96, Thorndale, died Thursday, July 29, 1993 at the SPJST Rest Home in Taylor. Mrs. Becker was born on Dec. 27, 1896 in Detmold Community, Milam County, the daughter of Fred W. Schwarz and Sophie Wiethorn. She was married on April 19, 1917 and had lived in Thorndale all of her life. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid at the church, as well as a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She worked for ten years at Thorndale High School in food service. Preceding her in death were her husband, George E. Becker; one grandson, four brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 1, 1993 at 2 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale, the Rev. Vernon Appel, officiated. Burial was in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Douglas Boatright, Dwayne Becker, Randy Becker, Len Weise, Michael Becker, Jerry Becker, Bruce Boatright, Neil Weise, Donald Jansky, Russell Becker, and Lonnie Becker. Survivors include four daughters, Helen Boatright and husband, John, of Austin, Ruby Krause and husband, Enno, of Copperas Cove, Bernice Weise of Austin, and Ila Mae Jansky of Taylor; five sons, Erwin Becker and wife Betty of Corpus Christi, Roy Becker and wife Barbara of Rockdale, Gilbert Becker and wife Ina of Thorndale; Curtis Becker and wife Bernice of San Marcos and James Becker and wife Virginia of Baton Rouge, La.; two sisters, Bernice Kerlin and Clara Kerlin, both of Taylor; and one brother, Louis Schwarz of Taylor; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
