Friedrich Wilhelm "Fritz" Schwarz was baptized August 22, 1886, by Pastor Rudolf Jaeggli at Zion Lutheran Church in Zionsville, Washington County, Texas. His baptismal sponsors were Wilhelm Blum, Sr., Wilhelm Wiethorn, Sr., and Wilhelm Druesedow. Fritz Schwarz married Minnie Merkord on July 29, 1915. ******************************************************* OBITUARY FROM THE AUSTIN AMERICAN, Sunday, May 17, 1964 FRITZ SCHWARZ THORNDALE -- Funeral services for Fritz Schwarz, 77, former Thorndale city councilman who died Friday night at his home, will be held Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church. Rev. Walter Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Detmold Cemetery under direction of Condra Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the church after 3 p.m. Schwarz is survived by his widow; two sons and a daughter, Arthur Schwarz, Harry Schwarz and Mrs. Sidney McQuary, all of Thorndale; five sisters, Mrs. Louise Lange, Mrs. Mary Pasemann and Mrs. Clara Kerlin, all of Taylor, Mrs. Beatrice Kerlin of Austin and Mrs. Frieda Becker of Thorndale; four brothers, C. C. Schwarz and Ludwig Schwarz, both of Taylor, Henry Schwarz of Fabens and Wilhelm Schwarz of Thorndale; and 10 grandchildren.
