Friedrich Schwarz was a native of Dielingen, Westphalia, Germany. According to the confirmation records of Zion Lutheran Church in Zionsville, Washington County, Texas, Friedrich Schwarz was confirmed April 14, 1878, by Pastor Thoene. Friedrich Schwarz was stated as being baptized in Germany, and he was the stepson of Wilhelm Blum. Friedrich Schwarz married Sophie Wiethorn on November 5, 1885, at Zion Lutheran Church in Zionsville, Washington County, Texas; Pastor Rudolf Jaeggli performed the marriage ceremony. ******************************************************************************* OBITUARY FROM THE TAYLOR DAILY NEWS: F. W. Schwarz Dies Friday In Thorndale F. W. Schwarz, 84, died at his home in Thorndale Friday morning at 7:25. Mr. Schwarz was born in Germany December 4, 1863, and came to this country at the age of seven, settling first in Washington County. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sophie Schwarz; five sons, Fritz, Willie, and Louis Schwarz of Thorndale, Charlie Schwarz of Taylor, and Henry C. Schwarz of Fabens; seven daughters, Mrs. Otto Lange and Mrs. Leonard Kerlin of Thrall, Mrs. Charlie Zieschang, Mrs. Paul Pasemann and Mrs. Bennie Kerlin of Taylor and Mrs. Sophie Richter and Mrs. George Becker of Thorndale; thirty-eight grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home in Thorndale at four o'clock Sunday afternoon. The Rev. Paul Couckas officiating and burial will be in Detmold cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
