Bio

She was the daughter of Frederick and Sophie (Weithorn) Schwarz. Married Benny Kerlin 15 Dec 1928 in Thorndale. ∼ Clara Schwarz Kerlin, 96, of Taylor, died Saturday, March 18, 2006 at Taylor Care Center. Graveside services will be 2 PM, Tuesday, March 21 at Taylor City Cemetery with Rev. Walter Miller officiating. Clara M. Schwarz Kerlin was born in Detmold, Texas on August 15, 1909, the daughter of Frederick and Sophie (Weithorn) Schwarz. She was baptized in Detmold on October 3, 1909 and confirmed there on March 30, 1924. She married Benny Kerlin on December 15, 1928 in Thorndale. They lived in the Sandoval Community for forty-three years and were members of the Sandoval Zion Lutheran Church. They moved to their home in Taylor in 1984. Clara is remembered for living a Christian life and having a strong faith in God. She went home to the Lord at the age of 96 years, 7 months, and 3 days. She was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Sophie Schwarz; her husband Benny Kerlin; her daughter and son-in-law, Jeannette and Ed Mucha; and her six brothers and six sisters. Clara is survived by her son, Benny Ray Kerlin and wife, Tammy, 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be given to Sandoval Zion Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 104, Thrall, TX. 76578; Taylor Care Center, 212 W. Lake Drive, Taylor, TX. 76574; or Vista Care Hospice,7800 Shoal Creek 130 W, Austin, TX. 78757, in Clara Kerlin's memory.
