Bio

Robert was the 7th child of the 12 surviving children of Adolph Domel and Selma Kalmbach. His birth certificate lists his name as "Albert" born Weir, and his WW2 draft registration lists his name as "Robert Edgar" born Walburg. His next younger sibling was Berthold Edgar "Bert" born a year later. Robert as well as two of his brothers and three of his brothers-in-law served in the military during WW2. Robert was in the Army and served overseas in North Africa and France and England. At age 44, he married Lena [Rieger] Moerbe, on 25 Feb 1958, at Trinity Lutheran Church in San Angelo, TX. The marriage license was in Williamson County. She had two children from a previous marriage, but they had no additional children together. They lived at Thorndale where they farmed and ran a beer joint called Steve's Place.
