Lemuel "Dallas" Cannon was born on November 25th, 1844 in Benton County, Missouri. He married Laura Reavis on August 1st, 1869 in Henry County, Missouri. Laura was born on August 18/19th, 1856 near Leesville in Henry County. She was the daughter of Dewey Reavis. Lemuel farmed in Springfield Township, Henry County, Missouri, until he retired, they then moved into the town of Windsor, Missouri. Lemuel was a democrat and school director of the Oakland school district. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and of the Baptist Church. Lemuel died on April 6th, 1924 in Henry County, Missouri, he was 79 years, 4 months and 12 days old. Laura died on February 28th, 1935 and she and Lemuel are buried at Laurel Oak Cemetery in Windsor, Henry County, Missouri. Clinton Eye, April, 1924 – L. D. Cannon was found dead – In his bed Sunday morning, having died with heart failure some time during the night. He was a prominent farmer and stockman near Roseland for years, but several years ago moved to Windsor, which had since been his home. He was born in Benton County 69 years ago last November, but resided in Henry County since he was four years old. He married Miss Laura Reavis in 1869, who survives him with four children – Mrs. Alice Jordan, Windsor; Mesdames C. C. Hartle and Jessie Thomas, near Roseland; W.H. Cannon, near Oakland school. He also leaves one brother, Tut, of Windsor. Deceased was a good Christian man and had been a member of the Baptist church for many years. Rev. Wm. Wear conducted the funeral service from the Windsor Baptist church Monday afternoon. Burial in Windsor cemetery. Lemuel and Laura were the parents of 5 children: Gussie May, William Hill, Alice Anna, Loui and Jessie Cannon.
