Bio

Laura was born on August 19th, 1856 near Leesville in Henry County. She was the daughter of Dewey Reavis and Mary Miller Reavis. She married Lemuel Dallas Cannon on Aug. 1, 1869 in Henry Co. Missouri. Laura died on Feb. 28, 1935 in Henry Co. and is buried in Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, Missouri. *Windsor Review, March 7th, 1935. Mrs. Laura Cannon – Laura Reavis was born August 18th, 1856, near Leesville, in Henry County, Missouri. She was married to L. D. Cannon on August 1st, 1869. Mrs. Cannon was converted and became a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist church in 1879, where she remained a member until she moved to Windsor in 1916. Her husband preceded her in death in 1924. Four children, Mrs. Alice Jordan of Windsor, Mrs. Jessie Thomas of Lincoln, Missouri, Mrs. C.C. Hartle of Windsor and Will Cannon of Windsor, and one brother, Drury Reavis of Washington, D.C., other relatives and friends mourn the passing of Mrs. Cannon. She entered into rest at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. C. Hartle on February 28th, 1935, aged 78 years, 6 months and 10 days. Mrs. Cannon was faithful in her attendance at the Lord's house. She was faithful in her study of God's word and in her testimony to His saving Grace. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 3rd, at 2:30 p. m. from the Baptist church with Rev. Geo. Humphrey in charge. Interment was in Laurel Oak Cemetery under the direction of Huston-Turner Mortuary. Laura and Lemuel were the parents of five children: Gussie May, William Hill, Alice Anna, Loui and Jessie Cannon
