married John R Cannon 1832 in Kentucky, children: James D, John Henry, William B, Alice Anna, Lemuel Dallas, Napoleon B "Tut", Oscar Lafayette, Arthur St. Clair and Susan Almira ∼ Ferbis E. Farmer married John R. Cannon in abt. the year of 1832 or 1833. Ferbis was born in Virginia on January 18th, 1819. She moved to Kentucky with her parents as a small child and married at the age of 13. Several of their children were born in Graves County, Kentucky. John and Ferbis moved from Kentucky to Benton County, Missouri around the year of 1838 and then on to Henry County, Missouri by 1849. *Clinton Daily Republican - Clinton, Henry Co. Missouri - 4 Aug 1903 Mrs. Cannon, after a lingering illness, passed peacefully away Saturday morning, at the age of 84 years and 7 months. She was a model Christian woman. Funeral services were conducted at Mt. Olivet Sunday morning by Rev. Thornhill of Calhoun, after which the remains were laid away at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. *Clinton Democrat, August 4th, 1903. Grandma Cannon died at her home Friday, July 31st, at 11 o'clock, aged 84 years. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist church and was highly respected by everyone. The funeral was preached the following day by Rev. Thornhill of Calhoun, after which her remains were laid to rest in Mt. Olivet cemetery by her husband, who preceded her to the better world about fifty years ago.
