married Ferbis E Farmer ∼ John R. Cannon was born in approximatley 1810. The inscription on his gravestone states that he died on Jan. 1, 1854 at the age of 44. He married Ferbis E. Farmer in about 1832/1833. John and Ferbis moved from Kentucky to Benton Co. Missouri by the year of 1838 and then to Henry Co. Missouri by 1849. John died in Henry Co. Missouri and was buried in Mt. Olivet Baptist Cemetery, Henry Co. Missouri. John and Ferbis were the parents of nine children: James D., John Henry, William B., Alice Anna, Lemuel "Dallas", Napoleon Bonapart "Tut", Oskar "Layfayette", Arthur St. Clair, and Susan "Almira" Cannon.
