James Lowell Powell Born: July 19, 1889 Troy Mills, Linn Co, IA Died: October 12, 1962 Troy Mills, Linn Co, IA Buried: Troy Mills, IA Cem Sec 5 Spring Grove, Linn Co. lot 10B Obituary: James Powell, 74, Of Walker Is Dead Walker - James L Powell , 74, retired farmer and lifelong resident of Walker and Troy Mills vicinity, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Art Wachal, in Alburnett early Friday. Born July 19, 1888, at Troy Mills, he was married to Josephine Dudley Dec 12, 1906. Mrs Powell died in 1962. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs Paul Fuessley and Mrs Donald Kelso, both of Walker; Mrs Art Wachal of Alburnett and Mrs James Foushee of Rook Island; four sons, Harlan of Alburnett, Arthur of Kingfisher, OK; Wilbur of Rowley and Elzo of Ryan; a sister, Mrs Charles McPike of Walker; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Services: 2 pm Monday at the Troy Mills Methodist church. Burial: in Troy Mills cemetery. Friends may call at the Murdoch funeral home in Walker after noon Saturday.
