Vera Lucille Powell Born: August 16, 1908 Troy Mills, Buchanan, IA Died: October 15, 1989 Cedar Rapids, Linn Co, IA Buried: Troy Mills Cem, Troy Mills, IA Obituary: era L Fuessley McGuire, 81, of Troy Mills, died Saturday morning at St Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. Born Aug 19, 1908, at Troy Mills, she married Paul Fuessley Sep 13, 1928, at Lafayette. He died in 1962. She then married Charles McGuire Dec 12, 1968, at Troy Mills. Mrs McGuire worked for St Luke's Hospital from 1963 to 1968 and was a member of Christian Church, Homemakers Club and Sew Sew Club, where she served as secretary. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Kenneth Fuessley of Alburnett and Chester Fuessley of Walker; a daughter, Josephine Johnston of Independence; three brothers, Harlin Powell of Central City, Wilbur Powell of Rowley and Elzo Powell of Marion; two sisters, Eva Blin and Helen Kelso, both of Cedar Rapids;8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Services: 10:30 am Wednesday, Christian Church, Troy Mills, by the Rev Pamela Starr. Burial: Troy Mills Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:30 to 9 pm today at Murdoch Funeral Home, Walker.
