Bio

Mrs. Herman (Rosa) Grimm, age 88 of Tours, passed away January 26, 1997 (Sunday evening) in West Rest Haven. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. January 28 in St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. January 29 in St. Martin's Catholic Church with the Rev. Isidore Rozycki, as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Martin's Cemetery, Tours. Mrs. Grimm was born June 15, 1908 in West and had lived in the West-Tours area all of her life. She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church of Tours, the St. Elizabeth's Society and KJZT Society #11. She and her husband, Herman, who preceded her in death February 26, 1987, owned and operated the Grimm Cash Store in Tours for 42 years before retiring in 1969. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Mike Grimm, who died January 13, 1989. Survivors are one son, Joe Edd and wife Anne Jane Grimm of West; two daughters, Mrs. Emil (Marilyn) Hutyra of Tours and Mrs. Thomas (Martha Ann) Altus of Arlington; one brother, Ed Mashek of West; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Janie Mashek and Mrs. Rudie Grimm of West and Mrs. Lillian Mashek of Waco; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were Richard Hutyra, Pat Grimm, Steve Altus, Darrell Altus, Charlie Hutyra and Anthony Hutyra. Kotch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
