Walter Henry Kindle, 72, longtime resident of Olympus Community, died early Sunday morning at Rush Springs, Oklahoma where he and Mrs. Kindle were visiting friends. His death was due to a heart attack. Funeral services will be at 10 am Tuesday in the Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Smith and Rev. Luther R. Bradshaw officiating. Burial will be in the Olympus Cemetery under the direction of Newberry's. Pallbearers will be Cecil Stone, Don Ray Crook, Charlie Kennedy Leroy Stone, Ira Yancy, and Durl Lankford. Mr. Kindle, a retired farmer, was born February 25, 1892, in Smith County and came to Childress County in 1906 from Smith. He and the former Miss Ella Mitchell were married September 15, 1912, at Olympus. Survivors include: his widow of the home, three daughters, Mrs. Wesley Wiley of Hollis, Mrs. M.B. Morris and Mrs. Sidney Cagle, both of Childress; three sons, Jack of Childress, Clyde of Odessa and Frank of Phillips; three brothers, Syl Kindle of Longview, Delmas of Lefors and Elzy of Childress; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Hall of Odessa, Mrs. Ella King of Pampa and Mrs. Icy Lankford of Keys, California; 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
