Mrs. Eugene (Mary) Cocek, 79, of 110 South Marable died Tuesday morning, March 4, 1980 in West Community Hospital. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Gene Shepard as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kotch Funeral Home. Mrs. Cocek was born in West at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kotch Funeral Home. Mrs. Cocek was born in West where she lived all her life. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar Society at St. Mary's. She was also a member of Catholic Daughters of America Court No. 829 and KJZT Society No. 11. She was a volunteer at West Rest Haven Nursing Home. She married Eugene Cocek Nov. 15, 1920 at West. Survivors include her husband; 2 sons, Amos Cocek and Jerry Cocek, both of West; two sisters, Mrs. Millie Kallus of Abbott and Mrs. Rosie Lednicky of West; one brother Frank Gerik of West; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bobby Lednicky, Freddie Gerik, Joe Johnny Halamik, Alois Haidusek, Jerome Kallus, Larry Lednicky, and Alfonse Cocek.
