Frank G. Gerik, age 92, of 300 Haven, passed away early Sunday morning, February 14, 1988 at West Community Hospital. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Monday, February 15, 1988 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Isidore Rozycki. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 16 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Msgr. Ray Widacki as Celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Gerik was born October 10, 1895 near West, the son of Joseph and Otille Gerik. He married Lydia Milberger in West on October 16, 1920. She preceded him in death on February 6, 1977. He was a farmer and worked as a plumber and electrician prior to opening F.G. Gerik Appliance Store in 1934. He retired in 1962. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4819, American Legion 478 and Knights of Columbus Council 2305. He was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Mr. Gerik served his country during World War I with the United States Army from July 1918 to February 1919. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Alfred E. (Freddy) and Nita Gerik of West; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. John Lee (JoAnn) Gerik of West; one sister, Rosie Lednicky of West; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Bobby Lednicky, Jerome Kallus, Amos Cocek, Charlie Ondrej, Larry Lednicky, and Johnny Marak. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Kubacak, Bernard Lednicky, and Raymond Lednicky.
