Jim V. Gerik Rites Held Jim V. Gerik, 78, of Waco, died Friday night in a Waco nursing home. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waco with Monsignor Ed Rabroker as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. at Connally-Compton West Chapel. Mr. Gerik was born in 1899 near Penelope. He lived in Waco for more than 40 years and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was a carpenter and had retired from William Cameron Co. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hattie Gerik; a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Gerik Sternadel of Granada Hills, Calif.; a son, Bernard Gerik of Canoga Park, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Millie Kallus of Abbott and Mrs. Rosie Lednicky and Mrs. Mary Cocek, both of West; a brother, Frank Gerik of West; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
