V.J. Sulak, 74, Dies; Rites Held Tues. Valerian J. Sulak, 74, of West died Sunday afternoon in a Hillsboro hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Requiem mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of Assumption in West with Rev. George Doskocil as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Sulak was born near West and had lived in the West area all his life. He was a retired farmer, a member of the Catholic Church and a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Valerian A. Sulak of Waco, Celestyn Sulak and Wesley J. Sulak, both of West; four daughters, Mrs. Marcella Kucera of West, Mrs. Clarence (Anna) Doskocil of Mansfield, Mrs. Charlie (Josephine) Young of West and Mrs. Ralph (Dorothy) Arnold of Temple; four brothers, Joe Sulak of Waco, John Sulak of West, Albert Sulak of Hillsboro, and Philip Sulak of Elm Mott; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Hutyra of West and Mrs. Sophie Jurek of Waco; and 20 grandchildren.
