Phillip J. Sulak, 89, of 311 S. Charles in Elm Mott died Sunday morning, July 24 in a Waco nursing home. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel, West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead, with Rev. Angelo Bertini as Celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Mr. Sulak was born May 1, 1899, in West. He had lived in the West and Elm Mott areas all of his life. He married Barbara Futch on October 22, 1929 in West. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Martin Sulak and Phillip C. Sulak, both of Bellmead, Alois Sulak of Arlington and Walter Sulak of Waco; five daughters, Theresa Svehlak of Ennis, and Barbara LaGesse, Beatrice Yale, Rose Marie Jezek and Veronica Craven, all of Arlington; a sister, Sophie Jurek of Waco; 26 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
