Valerian A. Sulak, age 69, of Bellmead died May 28, 1995, in a Waco hospital. Rosary was recited May 29 by the Rev. Ed Karasek in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 31 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in West with the Rev. Melvin Dornak as Celebrant. Military Graveside Rites followed in St. Mary's Cemetery conducted by V.F.W. Post # 4819 of West. Mr. Sulak was born September 2, 1925, near West and had been a resident of Waco for a number of years and a resident of Bellmead for the past two years. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco and the Knights of Columbus Council #2305 of West. Mr. Sulak was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy and a member of the V.F.W. Post #4819 of West. Survivors include one brother, C.J. Sulak of Rt. 1, West; four sisters, Mrs. Marcella Kucera of Waco, Mrs. Clarence (Anna) Doskocil of Mansfield, Mrs. Charlie (Josephine) Young of Rt. 1 West and Mrs. Ralph (Dorothy) Arnold of Temple; and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were Tim Young, Dwanye Young, Mark Murry, Dennis Kucera, Kenneth Kucera, Greg Doskocil, Carlson Young and Lawrence Doskocil. Honorary pallbearers were members of V.F.W.
