Bio

Mrs. V.J. (Anna) Sulak, 82, of Route 1, West, died Thursday morning, August 1, in a Waco nursing home. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. on August 2 at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. August 3 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Msgr. George Doskocil as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mrs. Sulak was born March 3, 1903, in Fayette County. She lived in the West area most of her life. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was married to V.J. Sulak in 1922 in West. He died December 21, 1969. Survivors include three sons, V.A. Sulak of Waco, C.J. Sulak and Wesley J. Sulak, both of Route 1, West; four daughters, Mrs. Marcella Kucera of Waco, Mrs. Clarence (Anna) Doskocil of Mansfield, Mrs. Charlie (Josephine) Young of West and Mrs. Ralph (Dorothy) Arnold of Temple; a brother, Frank Picha of Fort Worth; two sisters, Mrs. George (Albina) Soukup and Mrs. Henry (Christine) Urban, both of West; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Kenneth Kucera, Dennis Kucera, Rodney Young, Dwayne Young, Lawrence Doskocil and Gregory Doskocil.
