Rites Held Saturday For Tom Uptmore Tom George Uptmore, 67, of 1417 Lyle Ave., Waco, died about 4 p.m. Thursday after apparently suffering a heart attack while working at Moody. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Compton-Waltrip Chapel. Rev. Mark Deering officiated. Burial was in Rosemound Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Compton-Waltrip Chapel. Mr. Uptmore was a construction worker. He was born in Leroy and had lived in Waco for 26 years. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lena Uptmore; four daughters, Mrs. Magdalene Shelton of Fort Worth, Mrs. Evelyn Varner of Euless, Mrs. Dolores Bair of Waco, and Mrs. Betty Rose Yoli of New York; one son. R. L. Uptmore of Waco; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Willenborg of Pasadena, Calif., Mrs. Joe Schroeder and Mrs. Lizzie Grellhesl, both of Tours; three brothers, Ben Uptmore and Frank Uptmore, both of Tours, and Jim Uptmore of Waco; 14 grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandson, Tommy Shelton, Gary Shelton, Dwayne Uptmore, Greg Varner, Billy Bair, Daryl Uptmore and Billy Uptmore.
