Evelyn Margaret Varner January 4, 1930 - February 11, 2024 Evelyn Margaret Uptmore Varner, 94, a retired homemaker, went to be with our Lord, Sunday, February 11, 2024 in Austin, Texas. Evelyn was born on January 4, 1930 in Tours, Texas near Waco.to Thomas and Lena (Schutza) Uptmore. Her grandparents had come from the area of Frankfurt, Germany in the 1880's. Evelyn married George Washington Varner May 7, 1947 in Waco, Texas. They lived in Waco, Grapevine, and Austin. Evelyn will be reunited in heaven with her husband, George Varner; son, Gregory Varner, brother, Tommy Uptmore; sisters Betty Yoli, Delores Bair , and Magdalen Shelton. Evelyn was a member of Waco Bible Chapel for many years and loved scripture, gardening, and making cookies and biscuits with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors: Daughter, Nancy Varner Eubanks and husband, Gary of Leesburg, Florida, Daughter Kathy Varner deLaunay of Austin, Texas. Evelyn also leaves a legacy of eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren. "Let not your hearts be troubled.. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms.
