Bio

Martha was born Dec. 19, 1907, in Aloys to Fred and Mary (Ortmeier) Plantenberg. She grew up in Crofton. She married Joseph P. Emanuel on Feb. 4, 1931, in Crofton. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Pleasant Valley area northwest of North Bend. Her husband preceded her in death Sept. 2, 1980. She moved into North Bend in 1987. Survivors include: three sons, a daughter; a brother; 21 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by six brothers, three sisters, a son-in-law and two grandchildren.
