"Stancie" Larchick, 96, of Loup City died Monday at a Loup City care home. Services were Thursday at St. Josaphat's Catholic Church in Loup City with the Rev. John Cook officiating. Burial was at Grand Island Cemetery. Mrs. Larchick was born Feb. 17, 1888, on a farm near Krakow, the daughter of Andrew and Catherine Szawica Gzehoviak. She grew up and attended school at Tarnov. She married Frank J. Larchick at Loup City and farmed in the area. In 1951 they moved to Grand Island. Mr. Larchick died in 1955, and Mrs. Larchick remained in the area until 1976 when she moved to Kearney. In 1981 she moved to Loup City. She was a member of the Catholic faith. Surviving are a son, Lambert of Kearney; five daughters, Christine Kusek and Matilda Cannon, both of Loup City, Mrs. Henry (Sara) Osantowski of Kearney, Mrs. Jack (Connie) Weiss of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Mrs. Ralph (Claudia) Badura of Ashton; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and other relatives. Relatives in this area include the Rev. Bruno Savage, Francis and Richard Savage, Edwin Zoucha, and Mrs. Stanley Bonk. Mrs. Larchick was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers, four sisters and three half-brothers.--[submitted by Marge Galus Sandlier--no relationship to deceased]
