Son of Andrew Debney & Catherine (Szawica) Zaucha Grzechowiak. Note different spelling of last name. ------------- Shown on birth/baptismal record of St. Michael's church in Tarnov as: Antonnium Grzechowiak, born May 27 (sic), 1881 and baptized June 16, 1881; Parents: Andrea Grzechowiak & Catharianm Szawica; Godparents: Antonnius Maron & Maryanna Paprocki ----------- Obituary March 1950 Loup City, Neb. - Funeral services for T. A. Gzehoviak, 68, who died last Friday, March 3, were held in St. Josaphat's church Wednesday morning. Rev. Andrew Augustyn offered the requiem mass. A military graveside service was held and burial was in St. Josaphat's cemetery. Pallbearers were Stanley Kuta of Tarnov, Paul Reiche of Tilden, Chris Ignowski, Ignac Haremza, Ben Jasnoch, and Ed Makowski. Anthony "Tony" Andrew Gzehoviak, son of Andrew and Catherine Savage Gzehoviak, was born in Tarnov (Neb.) May 21, 1881. His boyhood was spent in Nance county. In his youth he enlisted in the regular army and served in Cuba and Philippines during the Spanish-American War. On Oct. 22, 1907, he married Veronica Larchick and they made their home on a farm until 1912 when they entered into business in Loup City. Until his retirement in 1938, he operated a general merchandise store. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother (all four having died in one week during a diphtheria plague in 1892), and an infant daughter. Surviving in addition to his wife are six daughters, Mrs. Henry Mathew of Coos Bay, Oregon, Lucille of Washington, D. C., Mrs. F. T. Bake of Lincoln, Mrs. Richard Badura, Helen and Valerie of Loup City; five sons, Louis of Grand Island, Ronald of U. S. Navy, Henry, Harold and Anthony Jr. of Loup City; and 13 grandchildren; also two sisters, Mrs. John Augustyn and Mrs. Frank Lorchick; one brother, Frank, Portland, Ore; and two half brothers, Andrew Zauha, St. Paul and John Zauha, Loup City.
