Bio

Frank Larchick, 78, passed away at the St. Francis Hospital at Grand Island, Monday morning Oct. 3, where he had been a patient since Sept. 12. Mr. Larchick spent almost his entire life in the Loup City community as a carpenter and farmer until his retirement to Grand Island in 1952. The rosary was recited at the family home, 222 West 14th St, on Wednesday evening. Funeral services were held at 10:00 o'clock Thursday morning at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at Grand Island, with a Requiem High Mass offered by Rev. Naughtin. The burial was at the Grand Island cemetery. Pallbearers were Ed Guzinski, Edward Augustyn, Melvin Edwards, Emil Lonowski, Gilbert Lewandowski and Bill Placke. Mr. Larchick was born Oct. 4, 1896 at Pittsburg, Pa. to Joseph and Lucille Rosczynski. At the age of one he came with his parents where they settled on land near Paplin and there he grew to manhood. He was married to Eva Chelewski and no children were born to this union. After her death he married Miss Stancie Gzehoviak at Loup City, Oct. 23, 1912. To them seven children were born. He is survived by his wife, one son, Lambert of Kearney, six daughters, Mrs. Christine Kusek, Loup City, Mrs. Dorothy Kucera, Kearney, Mrs. Matild Figura, Fort Collins, Colo., Mrs. Sara Hall, Grand Island, Mrs. Cornelis Weiss, Fort Collins, Colo., and Mrs. Claudia Badura, Ashton; one sister, Mrs. John Lonowski, Loup City; three-half brothers, S.A. Lewandowski, Loup City, Paul Lewandowski, Mitchell, Pete Lewandowski, Walla Walla, Wash.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Matt Ignowski, Loup City and Mrs. Stanley Kowalski, Farwell and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four infant brothers, and one infant sister. Relatives and friends attending the funeral were from Lexington, St. Libory, Kearney, Ashton, Loup City, Ravenna, Hazard Columbus, Shelton, Omaha, Farwell, Fullerton, Grand Island and St. Paul. --Courtesy of The Sherman County Times, October 13, 1955— Contributor: Diane (47528261)
