Birth/baptismal record from St. Michael's church at Tarnov: >Mariam Grzechowiak, born January 31, 1883 and baptised February 11, 1883 Parents: Andreas Grzechowiak & Catharina Szawica, Godparents: Adam Pejor & Victoria Paprocki. Excerpted from Obituary: Mary was born in Tarnov, Nebraska. After the death of her mother in 1893, she lived with an uncle, Stanislaus Augustyn. She married John Augustyn at Tarnov, Nebraska, on January 26, 1899. At her marriage, she became instant mother to John's four daughters from a previous marriage. They lived on a farm southwest of Genoa for seven years. In 1906 they moved four miles northeast of Loup City, where they lived until April of 1940, then moved to Loup City. Mrs. Augustyn was a member of the Rosary Society of St. Josaphat's church in Loup City.
