Funeral services for Mrs. Jim Ver Hoef of Sioux Center will be held today, June 16, at one o'clock at the home and 1:30 at the Central Reformed Church with Rev. M. Klaaren officiating. Burial will be in the Carmel Cemetery with Vander Ploeg's funeral Service of Sioux Center in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Jim Ver Hoef nee Anna De Roos passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening at the age of 81 years, 1 month and 27 days. In November of 1892 she was united in marriage to Huibert Remmerde, who preceded her in death in 1916 and to this union were born the following children: Attie, Mrs. Walter Kuyper, Inwood; Marie, Mrs. Marion Kuyper; John Remmerde; Robert H. Remmerde; Tracy, Mrs. John Prins; Elizebeth, Mrs. Harry Prins, all of Carmel and Tilda, Mrs. Luke Van Berkum of Rock Valley. To that union there are also 28 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren surviving. Two full sisters and one full brother preceded her as well as 3 half brothers and 2 half sisters. In 1922 she was married to Y. R. Mulder who preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 1942. On May 6, 1949, she was united in marriage to Jim Ver Hoef, who now survives. She is also survived by 15 step children. Mrs. Ver Hoef was a member of Central Reformed Church. Sioux Center News 1955-06-16.
