Bio

John H. Remmerde, 92, of Rock Valley died Saturday, April 26, 1997, at die Hegg Memorial Health Center in Rock Valley. Services were Wednesday at Carmel Reformed Church in Carmel, Iowa, wilh the Rev. Brad Langstraat officiating. Burial was in Carmel Cemetery. Visitation was al the Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center, Iowa. Mr. Remmerde was bom Feb. 9, 1905, in Carmel, the son of Huibert and Anna (DeRoos) Remmerde. He attended die Carmel School up to the sixth grade. He married Marie Sandbulte on Feb. 6, 1924, in Carmel. The couple farmed near Cannel for many years. He was a member of the Carmel Reformed Church. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Herb and Alice of Rock Valley and Ken and Helen of Aumsville, OR; two daughters and their husbands, Johanna and Mike Ovennan of Sioux Center and Phyllis and Floyd Wasmund of Hemel, CA; a sisier, Tilda Van Berkum of Rock Valley; 16 grandchildren; 36 greatgrandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren.
