Parents: Jan Willems de Roos & Folkertje Jans Krol ∼ "Dieuwke and William Vander Kooi were married in The Netherlands and came with their small daughter, Fannie, in the De Roos party from Oosterlittens to America in 1873. Little Fannie (Fokje) died and was buried at sea. They farmed near Alton [IA] form 1873 to 1892 when they moved to Hull. In April 4, 1907, William writes that Dieuwke is 56 years and suffers from diabetes--always tired--is very weak. She died a little more than a month later. There were nine children [born] of Dieuwke and William Vander Kooi. " Fannie, born in the Netherlands. Died at sea, 1873.
