Malissa Thornton ......funeral Thursday CISCO - Malissa Jane Thornton, 77, of Cisco died Tuesday morning in Baptist Memorial Hospital in San Angelo after a lengthy illness. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church in Cisco. The Rev. Buddy Sipe will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery under direction of Holly-Rhyne Funeral Home. Mrs. Thornton was the wife of the late J.L. (Punk Thornton, who owned and operated the Thornton Feed Mill in Cisco. She was born April 25, 1899, in Bullard to William J. and Celia Sides. Mrs. Thornton married J.L. Thornton in 1920 in Corsicana. Her husband died in 1970. Mrs. Thornton was a member of First Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors are her daughter Mrs. Frank (Dana) Barrett of Garland; four sisters, Mrs. J.B. Collins, Mrs. Evia McDonald, Mrs. Charles Baird and Mrs. Maude Williamson, all of Childress; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bill Wright, Lloyd McGrew, Lloyd London, Don Rupe, Doug Fry and Garl Gorr.
