Ethel was the daughter of William Jess Sides and Celia Caroline Key. Siblings were Floyd, Huit "Jack", Lemon, Luevada, Maude, Melissa, Mary Ellen, Wilbur, and Evie Sides. Ethel married Lloyd Harrell Holliman and they had one son, Lloyd Harold Holliman, Jr.
