Herald Coaster, May 17, 1999: Funeral services for Sophia Louise Raesner McDougle, 91, of Needville, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, at the Needville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Linda O'Neal officiating. Burial will be in the Needville Public Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, May 17, at the Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel in Needville. Mrs. McDougle went home to be with her Lord Saturday, May 15, 1999, in Richmond. She was born June 27, 1907 in Rosenberg to the late Ernest Zwahr and Anna Sandoff Zwahr. She was a homemaker and member of the Needville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, Clyde Raesner and his wife, Peggy, of Guy; grandchildren, Ricky, Wendy, Daryl, Rita, Larry, Dee, Michael, Elaine, Greg, Janet, and Kyle Raesner; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Homer Raesner; her second husband, Claude McDougle; a son, Alton Raesner; and 16 brothers and sisters. For those wishing, donations may be made in her memory to the Needville United Methodist Church. Services are under the direction of Garmany and Carden Funeral Dirs., Inc., 3103 School Street in Needville. (409) 793-4515.
