Bio

Herald Coaster, November 20, 1979: Funeral services for Otto Julius Zwahr, 83, of Damon, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville. Burial will be in Needville Public Cemetery. Zwahr died Nov. 18 in a Wharton hospital. A native of Brenham, he was a carpenter before retirement. Survivors include three sons, E.E. (Buddy) Zwahr of Freeport, Roy Zwahr and Clifford Zwahr, both of Damon; two daughters, Isabell Matthews of Rosenberg, and Adeline Graeber of Needville; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Lydia McCall, Betty Wruck, Annie Kramer, Sophie McDougle, and Elizabeth Miller, all of Needville. Friends may call after 3 p.m. at the Garmany & Carden Chapel in Needville. Memorials should be made to the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville.
