Bio

Fort Bend Herald, March 17, 2020: Clyde Raesner of Guy went to be with the Lord on March 14, 2020 in Guy, TX at the age of 79. Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 58 1/2 years, Peggy Walcik Raesner; children, Greg Raesner and his "favorite daughter-in-law", Janet, Kyle Raesner and his special friend, Michelle; and granddaughter, Makenzie Raesner. He is also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer Raesner and Sophie Zwahr Raesner McDougal; step-father, Claude McDougal; his in-laws, Ed and Norma Walcik; and brother, Alton Raesner. Clyde was born on July 27, 1940 in Rosenberg, Texas to Homer and Sophie Raesner. He was a 1958 graduate of Needville High School and later married his high school sweetheart, Peggy Walcik, on June 3, 1961. Clyde and Peggy spent many happy years together enjoying fishing, taking trips to rodeos, farming, working cattle, showing animals, dancing, and being with friends and family. Over the years, the couple was blessed with the birth of 2 sons. His sons and granddaughter remember him as a kind, gentle, patient, and fun loving father and Papa who was always supportive and there to help in any way he could. He taught the boys the joys of being outdoors hunting, fishing, playing sports, showing livestock, and how to rope and ride. He loved spending time with his granddaughter, Makenzie, teaching her about livestock and listening to George Strait Christmas songs in the summertime while hauling hay. Clyde was a generous and caring individual who loved his family and local community. He was an active and dedicated member of the Needville Youth Fair and Ft. Bend County Fairs, where he served on the board of directors, along with the Steer committees. Visitation will be 5-7:00 PM Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Immanuel Evangelical Church, 9018 Church Street, Needville, Texas 77461. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at Immanuel Evangelical Church, with Rev. Ron Shifley officiating. Burial will follow in Guy Cemetery, Guy, TX.
