Obituary published in the Rosenberg Herald on 14 Mar 1930. ADOLPH ZWAHR DIES AT NEEDVILLE HOME Friends and relatives all over Fort Bend County were shocked and grieved Saturday, when they learned of the death of Mr. Adolph Zwahr, one of the country's most prominent and progressive farmers. Mr. Zwahr's death occurred at about 10:30 o'clock at his home, a victim of gunshot wounds, self inflicted. Mr. Zwahr died without explaining his act, which came as a great shock even to his immediate family. Mr. Zwahr was born in Germany 51 years ago, but has been a resident of the United States for more than thirty-eight years, most of which time was spent in Fort Bend County. He was married to Miss Katie Cesinger in Richmond, twenty-eight years ago and to this union were born three children. He was a capable, progressive farmer, one of those who has always been for the advancement of the farming industry; a true believer in Fort Bend County's possibilities. Deceased is survived by his wife; two sons, Adolph Zwahr, Jr., and August Zwahr; one daughter, Mrs. Levi Nett; three grandchildren; his father, several brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. Ed Barcus, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Rosenberg, had charge of the services. Interment was made in the family burial lot in the Seiler Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by the Wessendorf Funeral Home of Richmond.
