Bio

Mrs. Neal Vonk, 74, of Rock Valley died Friday, March 9, at Hegg Memorial Hospital. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the First Reformed Church with The Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating. Burial was in the Carmel cemetery under the direction of the Porter Funeral Home. Mrs. Vonk, the former Tillie Feekes, was born April 21, 1904, in Carmel. She was married to Neal Vonk on September 9, 1925, at Carmel. Survivors include the widower; five sons, John of Rock Valley, Theodore and Cornelius, both of Battle Creek, Michigan, Harold of Medford, New Jersey and Ivan of Mount Vernon. Also four daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Thelma) Andel of Lake Wood, California, Mrs. Wallace (Joanne) Vermeer of Orange City, Mrs. Gerrit (Esther) Kats of Rock Valley and Mrs. Kent (Ruth) Higgins of Bloomfield, Colorado. Also three brothers, Gradus and William, both of Rock Valley and Oepke of Sioux Center; and two sisters, Mrs. Gerrit (Attie) Schoep and Mrs. William (Minnie) Van Berkum, both of Rock Valley. Also 28 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Rock Valley Bee 1979-03-14.
