Bio

Gradus Feekes, 87, of Rock Valley died Monday June 23, in a nursing home at Rock Valley. Services were 10 a.m. Wednesday in Cartnel Reformed Church at Rock Valley. The Rev. David Laman officiated. Burial was at Carmel Cemetery under direction of the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. Mr. Feekes was born Jan. 11, 1893, near Carmel. He married Rena Van Den Hull July 9, 1919. at Carmel. They lived in rural Sioux Center and near Carmel. Survivors include the widow; four sons, Theodore H. of Peterson, George of Sioux City, Gerrit B. of Avoca, and Robert of Sheldon; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Winnie) Scholten of Steen, Minn, and Mrs. Art (Matilda) Moss of Valley Springs, S.D.; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchidlren; two brothers, Opie of Sioux Center and William of Rock Valley; and two sisters.
