Daughter of Hugh Marshall Ferrington and his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Coats. She was raised and educated in Cameron and its rural schools. She moved to Monmouth at the age of 16. Hazel married Henry Walther on March 1, 1926, in Monmouth, and he preceded her in death on July 3, 1931. She later married Walt Reynolds on September 9, 1942, in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death in September of 1947. Hazel worked as a Nurse's Aide and then as Licensed Practical Nurse at Monmouth Hospital from 1946 to 1968. Before retiring, she served as Purchasing Agent for a number of years. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Monmouth. Survivors include two daughters, Hazel "Tidsy" Murphy and Ollie of Monmouth, and Margaret Tubbs and Henry of Sumner, Washington; six grandchildren, Denise Pullen and Gary of Monmouth, and Diana Walker and Dan, Henry Tubbs and Susan, David Tubbs and Carolyn, Steven Tubbs and Margo Tubbs; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands; four brothers, including Elmer Hugh Ferrington, Ralph Marion Farrington, Kenneth Creigh Ferrington, and Louis M. Emery (nee Lewis Clark Farrington); and three sisters, Wanda Marie Ferrington, Mrs. Ruth Lucile Huntley, and Mrs. Edna P. Kniss.
