Son of William and E. J. Reynolds, living in Monmouth as of the 1900 census. By the 1910 census, William was divorced, with his son Walter, age 16, living with him in Monmouth; they were both employed as coal wagon drivers. Walter married Pearl Peterson in Monmouth on 6 April 1915. As of Walter's WWI draft card in 1917, they were living in Columbus Junction, Louisa county, Iowa, with Walter listed as a farm laborer. They were living together in Rock Island as of the 1920 census, with Walter listed as a moulder in an iron foundry. Apparently they divorced, with Pearl remarrying Ronald Robinson. As of his WWII draft registration in 1942, Walter was listed as self-employed, with a business address of 106 Market Alley, Monmouth, but was single at that time. He listed Mrs. Hazel Walther as his contact person. Walter married Hazel Olive Ferrington, widow of Henry Frederick Walther, on 9 September 1942 in Kahoka, Clark county, Missouri.
